A: Yes, we recommend Aurora’s sharpening & lubricant sheets to use on the shredder once a month. Aurora’s sharpening & lubricant sheets provide a clean and simple way to prevent paper jams, reduce static dust and buildup for optimized efficiency.
Q: I notice there is some paper inside the shredder. Is it used?
A: Aurora does 100% inspection and testing in the production line. It’s normal to have some paper left inside the shredder after testing. It is not used.
Q: How should I do if a paper jam is happened?
A: Solution 1: Insert a filing folder or any rigid sheet of cardstock (examples: old greeting card or a couple index cards) directly into the center of the feed entry while applying force to help push the jammed paper through.
Solution 2: Using a flashlight, look inside of the feeding slot; somewhere inside the paper slot is a jammed paper or pieces of shredded paper.
keep in mind that it is very narrow and dim inside the slot so it is sometime difficult to see the pieces of papers, you’ll need to tilt the machine in different angles until you see the paper.
Please make sure to turn off the machine first, then use a pointy tool (example: letter opener or nail file) to dig the papers from the top.
Q: Why does my paper shredder stop shredding after few minutes?
A: The motor has reached its thermal protection, and it needs claimed cooldown time to resume.
Q: Can I use a bag on the basket?
A: Bag is not recommended due to it may block the interlock between the shredder head and the basket.
